Local South was born in Georgia, using a smoker built in Georgia, and influenced by pitmasters all over the south. We've enjoyed cooking for friends and family for over a decade and decided to invite the general public to enjoy it too. We want to serve at food truck parks, family get-togethers, street corners, and anywhere else people want to enjoy wholesome, heart-warming food.
Our smoked brisket is a savory beefy meat, our smoked pork is a delectably sweet treat. Ribs were the first thing we learned to smoke, and one of our favorites. Our meat-forward philosophy brings you the best, freshest BBQ around. Your enjoyment is our mission, and our pleasure.
We bring great food to locations all over Michigan. Our calendar will show our scheduled stops, but be sure to follow our social media for surprise visits! Based near Lapeer, we are mobile and ready to bring you the smoky goodness.

We know that the classics work, so we've based our bbq around beef and pork. Specifically smoked brisket and pork butts/shoulders. We enjoy meaty baby back pork ribs, and the occasional set of St. Louis spares. The core of our business is meat.
Our desserts change with the seasons as we try to source our ingredients locally. Look forward to apple cobbler and cherry crunch from local orchards. We're happy to sell these by the pan with a few days' notice; nothing beats a warm cobbler with a scoop of ice cream on it.
